Climate change, biodiversity conservation, demographic pressure, global food security, energy and digital transition… Faced with these major and unprecedented global challenges, the VIVESCIA Cooperative Group is convinced that its grain, agriculture and agri-food professions, including KALIZEA, have a role to play: they are part of the solutions, today and even more tomorrow.

To go faster and further and to develop the conditions for a sustainable performance for the cooperative farmers of VIVESCIA, its employees and the Society, the Group reinvents and speeds up its sustainable development approach. In total, there are 20 commitments that are divided into objectives, indicators and projects, most of which have already been initiated and taken up by KALIZEA.

THE SOIL

Our profession was born from working the soil. It is thanks to sustainable agriculture, resistant to climate change but also profitable for farmers that we will be able to continue to produce quality ingredients.

Nowadays, the challenges about the soil are fundamental: resilience to face the climate change, biodiversity conservation, agroecological transition and low-carbon, reduction of our impacts on the natural resources…

These topics are an integral part of our daily thoughts and concerns..

To remedy this, we are committed to:

• Reducing our carbon footprint
• Reducing our energy consumption
• Promoting the work in chains for a better remuneration of the farmers
• Assessing our biodiversity footprint
• Respecting the Environmental Charter of the VIVESCIA Group in all our production sites

THE WOMEN & THE MEN

Because without these women and men who are committed every day to taking care of the maize in the fields, during the storage or on our processing sites, KALIZEA could not be the company it is today, it is our duty to take care of each of them.

THE TERRITORY AND OUR MAIZE CHAIN

Our profession directly contributes to the daily food. This gives us responsibilities and an ongoing commitment to continuous progress.

Our desire to develop our maize chain as well as our involvement in our production areas and within our ecosystem is measured through the various projects undertaken and our recent initiatives:

  • Contributing to the development of a diversified food offer
  • Promoting our human chain and our grain chain, relying on the agronomic know-how of the VIVESCIA Cooperative
  • Ensuring the health safety of our product during all the stages and developing process of continuous improvement to anticipate the future challenges
  • Being the bearer of a positive and supportive economic dynamic in the territories in which we are present
  • Sharing our knowledge and know-how, contributing to the development entrepreneurship and to the sustainability of our profession
